Winter Boot camp training outdoors the body warms up quickly

While the days may be getting colder and the temptation to hibernate indoors grows stronger, our winter boot camps have shown that the body warms up quickly.

Temperature drops but body warms up quickly

Cold night at Boot camp training

Although we had a bone shivering 8.7º degrees and everyone rugging up against the cold, it wasn’t long before everyone was done to T-Shirts and singlets.
The great thing about fitness training outdoors is the body is burning additional energy to maintain the core temperature. The cooler conditions provides an optimal balance between the heat generated by the body verses the cooling effect of the cooler air temperatures.

The greatest barriers to training outdoors in the cold weather isn’t the cooler air temperatures it’s what’s going through the mind. I have never had a client complain during a boot camp session that it’s too cold or the cooler temperatures are making them uncomfortable.

Think about when you’re up at the snow in the outdoor spa, maybe its -15º but within 10 minutes your sitting on the outside of the spa. Some people even roll around in the snow to cool down so it’s really just getting the body to the correct operating temperature.
