Funny Fitness Story: On Valentines Day had cycling accident, big bruise, partners response “That is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen”

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Funny Fitness story this morning at bootcamp, Chris & Kate went cycling on Valentines Day to the local hills, on the way back Kate’s bicycle chain malfunctioned and she was forced to pull over into a nearby driveway.

Unfortunately her front wheel got stuck in the gutter and over the handle bars she went sustaining considerable side impact damage to the hip & shoulder region. The resulting accident produced an extremely bruised hip with a colourful array of the typical bruising colours, deep purples and reds. Chris’s immediate response was, “That is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen”..following it up the next day with “I think it has gotten worse”. A true romantic at heart:))

Funny Fitness story: Instructing a fitmate to get back down for more push ups, as I called his name, Phil bent down and started dry reaching

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Funny Fitness story today at at Boot camp, Michael had the group doing as many sit ups as they can perform in 1 minute, the goal was to see who could do the most.

This was the last exercise of the day so everyone was exhausted. Phil had just got the 20 second mark when he got up immediately and started walking away from the group.

Upon seeing a fitmate avoiding the exercise by walking away, Michael asked Phil to get back down and getting back down he did. As soon as his name was called, he bent down and started dry reaching.
This lead to Michael feeling awkward and he turned my attention back to the group

P.S This is a fairly uncommon event, that is dry reaching at our boot camps so don’t be scared:))

Funny Fitness Story: Eating 2 week old rice and getting food poisoning

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Well at boot camp this morning, I was embarrassed when I was talking about how I was up at 2am with my stomach bubbling like an old school Italian stove top percolator after eating 2 week old brown rice for lunch.

I must plead ignorance hear as my clients quickly informed me that rice grows bacteria very quickly, especially if the rice isn’t cooled immediately after cooking. So the maximum consumption time is within 48 hours, ideally within 24 hours.

Well this got a big belly laugh from the morning fitness crew. This is one of many funny fitness storys that will keep being brought up at our morning bootcamp sessions

Funny Fitness Story “My alarm went off at 5.20am during surgery, assistant laughed as it said “boot camp”.

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

I was calling a client who was involved in life saving surgery to mention my praise and good wishes when before I could say anything, she quickly said “Are you calling as to why we haven’t seen you at boot camp”

Well given that she has been working around the clock recently, it’s understandable that she has missed a few Boot Camp exercise classes.

As my client often performs surgery in the middle of the night, the mobile phone alarm goes off at 5.20am, the theatre staff have a laugh when upon closer inspection the message says “Boot Camp

With all the negativity in the news and around the world, it is inspirational and enlightening to hear that miracles can happen and exceptionally talented and dedicated people can make a real difference to peoples lives.

Funny Fitness Story: Vet looked at the owners and could understand why their dog was so conditioned.

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Funny Fitness Story this morning, when a client took their dog to the Vet to investigate why their dog was limping, the vet cast his gaze over to the owners and could instantly understand why their dog was so conditioned.

Maggie, our unofficial Fitstyler mascot had damaged her cruciate ligament and will require surgery.

While knee injuries happen to humans, they also happen to dogs.

So we hope to see Maggie back at Boot camp soon, maybe not necessarily a funny fitness story for Maggie.
