Funny Fitness Quote – Hamish Scottish terrier gets excited with white socks

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

One of our Fitmates Pascale M had a funny story about her Scottish terrier Hamish who gets excited with white socks and trainers.

Hamish has become accustomed with the daily ritual of an afternoon or evening walk which is usually precipitated by his owner putting on her white socks and trainers. This process is now associated by Hamish as a cue for going for a walk.

However poor Hamish is left a little confused when Pascale M starts to put on the white Socks and trainers only to be left waiting as his owner hops in a car to get to boot camp training.

I have met Hamish and he is an extremely cute little Scottish terrier, maybe he can join one our Boot camps as dogs are always welcome.

Christmas dancing park

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

Very funny seeing some guys doing some Christmas dancing in the park in preparation for a surprise performance at their primary schools annual concert. With nice balmy weather conditions and plenty of enthusiasm will surely make this a big hit.

Get some move for Christmas preparations

While there are many different activities conducted in the park I haven’t yet seen the West side story style dancing, well I would have to give hundred and 10% for their enthusiasm and attitude.

Preaparations for some Christmas Boogaloo

I guess a little alcohol may help to ease the nerves of practicing in public however this is not the recommended or ideal way of overcoming stage fright. Perhaps I can adopt some of their moves for one of our Fitstyler boot camp sessions:))))

Our local park has seen many activities recently, including the annual dogs Christmas party that saw a massive turnout.

With open space options becoming a scare commodity as increasing urban density places pressure on land usage, it’s great to see people out and about enjoying our magnificent parks.

Funny fitness story Dog Confused running opposition Boot Camp

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

We had a funny fitness story at Boot Camp when one of our Fitmates, Paul C brought his dog along to the morning session.

As dogs can get very excited doing dog stuff,. Tim (Paul’s dog) got confused and ran to the other boot camp that was running in the park trying to find his owner. This went on for some time before Paul realised that his dog was missing and getting involved with another group.

We encourage our clients to bring along the dogs to our boot camp sessions provided that they are restrained and do not present a risk to other participants. Tim is often joined by Maggie, another dog and together they follow their owners around our exercise course and stay by the by the side during exercise.

I often say why leave your four legged friend at home, all alone and bored when you can bring them along to exercise class and everybody is kept happy.

Funny Fitness Story – Dog wanting medicine ball thrown boot camp

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Very funny fitness story at boot camp this morning, while the fitmates were doing squats while holding the medicine ball, we had a four legged friend, actually a Jack Russell waiting patiently for one of the Fimates to throw the medicine ball.

It was quite funny how this tiny dog was prepared to fetch the medicine ball which was about half it’s size. Even a Jack Russell has the determination and belief that anything is possible, even retrieving a massive tennis ball, that is in the eyes of the dog.
It’s Murphy’s Law that the only time I didn’t have my camera, there was this great photo opportunity:((

Quite often we have fear controlling what we do, we say it can’t be done, too hard, will fail but for this Jack Russell there was no such thing as failure, just have a go.

Funny Fitness story lost weight fits into 80s clothes

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Last night had a Funny Fitness story about a Fitmate who had lost a substantial amount of weight over the past 12 months. Like most of us who have a resistance to donating old clothes that needed retiring, our Fitmate had a secret stash of original 80′s clothes.

Well after 20 odd years it was time to clear the wardrobe including numerous pairs of white coloured pants (very sexy). Just out of curiosity our fitmate decided to try them on. Well to their surprise the pants fitted perfectly, something that wasn’t possible over 12 months ago.

So while white coloured pants haven’t made a comeback yet, it’s great to see that modifying your diet together with high intensity bootcamp training can reunite you with your old clothes.

One important thing that people in general should be aware of with regards to the size of your waist is the increased risk of cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
