While we trained on Tuesday night we had the best seat in the house to view the eclipse of the moon before it was obscured by thickened cloud.

Everyone had fun while we faced the moon while doing our exercises and drills

Shin splint and pain

Shins splint are a regular occurance to not only joggers but people resuming exercise.

A lot can be contributed to how your foot strikes the ground and the associated over use of the wrong muscles.

There are many different solutions on offer from orthotics to changing your foot wear.

What I have found is by consulting a foot specialist, he has re-taught me how to simply walk the way the body was origianlly designed. Simple stuff but very effective.

Fat burning zones

What is the optimum fat burning zone.

One way to explain it easierly is to compare your body to your car. If you drive none stop to Albury at 100km/h it may take you four hours and use 40 litres of fuel. Alternatively if you keep overtaking traffic and then resumed your regular 100km/h speed, the arrival time may be 20 minutes earlier and your fuel consumption will increase by say 5 litres. Burning fat in your body is no different.

So forget remember to vary the intensity and work at a higher level to reach that fat burning zone.
