In Western Australia there is no Sunday trading, while a nuisance to some, what a great way to do nothing, relax, wind down & de rush
Saturday, May 23rd, 2009With our society getting faster & faster, one state in Australia goes against the trend by having no Sunday trading, Western Australia.
While some may view this as crazy, I find it is a great way to do nothing, wind down, spend quality time with friends & family, re charge the batteries while not engaging in typical weekend behavior of rushing around buying this, going there, driving here, driving there.
While there are some exemptions based on satisfying certain criteria, most business have to reframe from opening on a Sunday.
The great thing is like retailers in the seventies before weekend weekend trading, people managed by shopping on Thursday/Friday nights or Saturday mornings before 12.00pm, everybody coped fine.
It’s only now in 2009 that longing working hours and additional weekend activities chrunch our time to the point the only option is Saturday afternoon or Sunday.
Maybe our buyer behavior has change, maybe we are now consuming more stuff or maybe shopping has become a social activity or we are making more frequent trips/smaller purchases from the supermarkets.
What ever has happened try this at home this weekend, buy all your food and other supplies and relax at home, switch off the internet, mobile phone, turn the land line ringing dial down and chill out.
You may be surprised how you feel Monday morning:)))

Read the fine print first, advertisement for Complete Lift by Roc mentions a “lift of up to 2mm” well 29/33 subjects averaged 0.8mm, not 2mm
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009It’s easy to get carried away by the fancy advertising campaigns and cosmetic claims but you really need to read the fine print first. Usually the fine print is printed on the packaging as this is usually discarded once the product is used for the fitst time.
The dvertisement for Complete Lift by Roc mentions a “lift of up to 2mm” well 29/33 subjects averaged 0.8mm, not 2mmThe cosmetic industry is one industry like the vitamin & supplement industry that are not as regulated as the pharmaceutical industry where there is no standardised testing of products.
With the Anti Aging market a Billion dollar industry, the growth of new products is bewildering.
Rok’s website states that RoC® COMPLETE LIFT Night Cream
Clinically proven to increase firmness, improve elasticity, and give skin a visibly lifted look.
Well there testing according to their advertisement

Clinical evaulation 8 weeks: facial Contour> result obtained on 3 subjects, average was 0.7mm on 18 subjects.
Are these results enough to encourage you to buy, secondly how do you measure facial contour, what exactly is facial contour and once a definition has been supplied, is there a universal “Facial Contour” test that other companies can use???
It’s amazing how your body acclimatises, 2 weeks ago 10 degrees was cold, after 4 degrees mornings last week 10 degrees now seems mild
Monday, May 4th, 2009After having an extremely mild Autumn with mornings of 13 – 15 degrees we suddenly experienced winter mornings overnight with temperatures plummeting to 3 degrees last week.
Before the rapid change in temperature, 10 degrees was considered extremely cold.
Normally the weather patterns would gradually change however the sudden change was a complete shock to the system for many.
Three degrees now became the new 10 degrees, however what was interesting was that this morning we had 10 degrees.
The general consensus in the group was the 10 degrees seemed quite warm.
Our bodies have re set the thermostat.
