Microsoft has a new ad campaign: “Struggling> Microsoft> Thriving” replace Microsoft with “Thinking positively”, create your own destiny

Too often we attribute failure in our lives, be it our financial situation, poor health or relationships, horrible employment to everyone but ourselves.

If you believe that good things will happen, good things will happen, there may be a few bumps in the road but the destination will be reached.

Now that footy is back, think of a team that are so far behind in a semi final that everyone believes the game is all but over yet if all the players give up, yes it is over. However if they can remain positive and hold the self belief that they will win, there’s a good chance they will.
Our on beliefs are out biggest driver be it positive or negative.

With the GFC, conspicuous consumption is taking a back seat, people are placing less emphasis on material wealth by getting back to basics

With the GFC taking hold, the old ways of buy, buy, buy are changing as people are re-evaluating their lives.
The most precious things in life don’t cost you loads of money, being healthy, having great realtionships with friends and family and being less stressed.
It’s time to simplify our lives and get back to basics, take up gardening, go for walks in the park, make time to catch up with friends and family, clear the mind of stress by reducing stressful situations, over extending ourselves for a new car, home renovation, new kitchen appliances, home entertainment etc.

Great documentary on surfing, surfers talking about being totally calm while waiting for waves, almost in meditative state, relaxed, how fantastic

While our lives are go, go, go, go, I admire the surfers who can get into that meditative zone, some people use music, or tranquility however you cannot beat becoming one with nature.

There life parallels surfing whereby they move through life trying to capture that perfect line, awesome stuff:)))

Never dwell on the past, continually focusing on stuff that we regret or upsets us stops us moving forward, we are held back by the past

How often do we have the “Should have, could have, wish I hadn’t, why did I do that, could have” Sound familiar?
If we are continually focusing on these negatives then ultimately we will keep attracting the negatives.

Do you often ask yourself why good things keep happening to people you know why you find your life is spiraling out of control?

Take control of your destiny, believe in yourself and focus on the positives.
Like to basic laws of the universe, there is a reaction to every action.
A positive to every negative, so do you see the glass half full or empty?

Is it any coincidence that content and happy people have positive & cheerful thoughts?

So take control today, don’t be imprisoned by your own mind, creating situations that need not be there.
Thinking positively will only create positiveness in your life.

Anxiety: At some point we have all experienced it, the outcome of an event, the expectation can create stress that is not necessarily there,

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Public speaking is one form of anxiety that can express itself as butterflies in the stomach to the gut wrenching total incapacity to speak at all. Often people would rather die than undertake a public speaking engagement, a little extreme but true for some people. What is really happening is our minds are conjuring whether consciously or unconsciously want people are thinking about our speech or how we are perceived by others.
This can extends to social engagements to speaking with co workers in the office, if we lack the confidence or are inwardly focused on how we are perceived the effects are crippling.
The hardest part is to push through these situations, ultimately you will not die, you will get through it and everything will be ok.
