Jessica Watson an inspirational person

Monday, May 17th, 2010

What an inspirational person Jessica Watson is for her epic journey to circumnavigate the world.
It shows you what a strong belief in yourself can accomplish, a feat many people said wasn’t possible for someone so young or without the necessary ocean experience.

Well with lots of determination and a never give up attitude she successfully completed this amazing journey in 10 months covering a staggering 38,000kms. Against everything that mother nature can conjure up from 10meter seas, 60knot winds, strong currents, treacherous conditions and an early incident with a bulk carrier ship, Jessica’s strength shone through.

What can be achieve with positive thinking

Think about the fatigue involved in being alert for 24 hours a days, every day for 210 days, the physical and mental exhaustion.

The biggest part was the psychological side as the isolation and loneliness at being out of sea without any personal contact for such a long period of time. The other big thing that stops most of us is fear of failure or doubting that we can succeed.

Self belief and positive thinking

In her own words “I’m just an ordinary girl who believes in her dreams, believe in it and work hard”. She is absolutely awesome with such an amazing attitude and belief “proof what can be achieved if you set your mind, anything is possible” She went further by saying that it’s overcoming small challenges and moving in small steps.

It was only 12 months ago that Susan Boyle proved that if you truly believe anything is possible.

One thing that was great was that Jessica craved fresh fruit apart from the usual chocolate requests.

Everyone of us has our own unique journey or dream, for some it’s to be healthier, lose weight and live a better life. If you have the belief system, anything is possible.

Inspirational people Swell season Melbourne

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

The duo Swell Season played in Melbourne this week, these inspirational people highlights how positive thinking can create great things if you truly believe.

If you belive, have positive thoughts, anything can happen

Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova came from nowhere to star in a small budget film that went on to win grammy Award for the movie Once.

The most spectacular thing is that Spell Season are not back by a recored company, Tour Company, band Manager or the usual entourage that follows rock stars.
Rather there belief in their music and commitment to their craft has won universal support from their legion of fans around the world.

The Palais Theatre in St Kilda Melbourne was filled to capacity yet from the exterior of the building you would never even realise that they were playing, no posters or signage as the booking for the venue was done by themselves.

Like many things in life, you can achieve whatever you won’t, whether it’s weight loss or achieving a healthier lifestyle, its all about projecting positive thoughts and believing in yourself.

Believing in yourself – having a home gig in your own lounge room

Monday, March 1st, 2010

You can make whatever you wont to happen if you believe in yourself. A friend of mine being like myself likes to be in bed before midnight, mmmm, actually 10.30pm most nights so going out and seeing live music can be challenging. Most bands don’t start playing until 10-11pm so it ends up being a very late night.

So my friend Richard decides if I can’t get to see the bands, why can’t the bands come to me, or to my lounge room.

project positive thoughts leads to having bands playing in your lounge room

Well this is the sixth time bands have played in Richard’s lounge room and were talking about quality Australian music with Leah Flanagan and The Yealings playing over the weekend. A review from Tom Jellett from the Weekend Australian “The Yearlings’ previous albums have hinted at great things to come and Highway Dancing may just be it.

Great to see bands playing in Melbourne homes

So thee were 2 ways at looking at what Richard did, firstly you can say who will play in my lounge room at all net alone for free or look at the situation positively and think that this is an opportunity for local bands to extend there audience.

Ultimately it’s all about projecting positive thoughts and energy, Richard know gets approached by not only local but international artists.

So think about this for all areas of your life, whether it is weight loss or being happier in your life, ultimately you can make it happen.

Is fear holding you back? My friend can’t join Boot camp so I can’t..

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Like many emotions in our mind, fear is one of the stronger ones.
So often I hear the same reason for not joining our Boot camp, I’m waiting for my friend to commit, I like to train with a friend, it’s more fun with a friend etc.

There are many activities whereby sharing the experience with a friend is great but is not the core reason for achieving your goals, it’s a supportive belief that exercise cannot be performed without a friend.
Ultimately any goal that you have in life is YOUR goal and not contingent on the outcomes of other people.

Imagine if your goal is to go trekking in Nepal, you have dreamt about it for years, pictured yourself high on the mountains tops, overlooking the valleys below.
Finally it becomes a reality, you pick a time and decide to go with an organised tour company and you chat to your friend about it, you’re both excited, what an awesome adventure.

Suddenly your devastated, your friend has started a new job and can’t get the time off, something totally unexpected has now happened.
So what do you do? Pursue you dream as your friend is understanding and doesn’t won’t to stop you pursing your dream or do you wait for another window of opportunity to travel with your friend?

But if we dig a little dipper to determine what is driving these outcomes, probably fear may be lurking in the depths of our mind; fear of commitment, of discomfort, performance anxiety, meeting strange people, making changes to your lifestyle.

What we need to do is change our belief system that we can exercise to achieve our goals and we will be successful.

So maybe fear is not the only reason but something to consider when you are held back from achieving your goals.

Mental diet for weight loss

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

How we feel about ourselves has an enormous effect on our actions. The big one that holds us back is fear yet we continue to entertain these thoughts.

What we really need to be doing is going on a mental diet for weight loss and limiting the consumption of these thoughts.

Do you have negative thoughts, is your mind churning through this negativity on a weekly, daily or hourly basis.
If you are constantly focused on these thought patterns, you will perpetuate this line of thinking with little chance of success.

Does this sound familiar? I can’t; there is no point; can’t succeed anyway; that person X is kucky; they can eat what they want; I just look at food and put on weight; too busy; wasting my time; I hate the way I look; the way I feel; nothing looks good on me; I’m unattractive; I feel fat.

Don’t sabotage yourself with these junk thoughts, get onto your mind diet today.
