Funny Fitness Quote “Reversed car hit the wall and missed Boot camp”

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

Very funny fitness quote regarding why a fitmate couldn’t make it to our Carlton Boot camp one morning “Reversed car hit wall missed Boot camp”.

reason why missed boot camp

No boot camp after hitting brick wall

It all started when Lisa L’s mum asked her to move her car, she thought she could park the car closer to the front door as she had some stuff to unload.

As Lisa went to reverse car, she inadvertently hit the accelerator to hard and when straight for the pillar and up onto the patio. She doesn’t quite know what happened as it was all so fast.

However I love her optimism, if she had driven forwards, the pillar could have gone through the windscreen or the verandah may have fallen down.

“Hasn’t been my year, anything that could have happened has happened (in bad stuff). So with 2011 a new year full of optimism and only good stuff ahead:))

With our Fitstyler awards now 12 months away, I think Lisa has blown away the competition very early for the best excuse for missing boot camp.

Shaken but not stirred:))

Funny fitness quote: fluffy dog rolling in mud, now that would be awesome

Friday, November 26th, 2010

At the boot camp last night there were numerous people out taking advantage of the balmy weather conditions and walking their dogs.

Given the inclement weather, we were training under a veranda facing the oval when we noticed one dog running past and without warning made a big leap forward into the puddle taking advantage of the freshly created puddles on the boundary of the oval.

This was proceeded by 2 rolls in quick succession and a deep lunge which left the owner a little flummoxed however dogs do what dogs have to do.

A few minutes later another freshly groomed dog came past that was impeccably washed and combed.

Well after the Fitmates watched the first dog dive bomb into the puddle, Debbie K came up with for stellar comment “if the fluffy dog went rolling in the mud, that would be awesome”.

Now this would have to be a contender for the funniest quote of the year prize.

Fortunately Melbourne has been experiencing above average rainfall, with the humidity being at a high 88%.

Unfortunately high humidity equals balmy conditions, including something that resembles rain which is more akin to mist. These weather conditions produce ideal growing conditions for grass which has led to high levels of hay fever. This has been exacerbated by the pollen being released from the extensive grass growth around Melbourne and the polle grains bursting with the high levels of humidity.

I overheard that one way of counteracting the effects of hay fever was to consume honey produced in the local area will. The idea being is that the histamines in the honey counteract the effects of pollen which is inhaled and ingested.

Somehow I can’t imagine that there are many beehives beekeepers for that matter that reside in inner Melbourne.

Well with more rain The predicted this weekend, there will be an abundance of more puddles and more fun times ahead for the local fraternity of dogs.

Unusual core exercise motorbike riding with a bbq

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Very funny and an usual core exercise, motorbike riding with a four burner bbq. (barbeque).

Motorcyclist travelling with barbeque

While this is a silly thing to do, it does show amazing core strength to hold perfect alignment with all of the deep core muscles such as the transversus abdominus, multifidus, internal and external obliques.

If he was to slouch forward, he would start placing a lot of strain on his lower back. The shoulders have to be braced extremely well between the internal and external rotators while maintaining perfect postural alignment. keeping a neutral spin also enables him to keep the hips stabilised enough to extend his hips far enough to reach the foot pedals.

So don’t be tempted to pick up some outdoor furniture or other stuff from the road side council hard rubbish collection, keep your core works to the safe environment of your own home:))

Funny Fitness Story missed boot camp Dynabolt through foot

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Received a great email why Phil missed Boot Camp last week “I forgot to email you – I put a dynabolt through my foot last week, and haven’t been able to walk properly, so we’ve been no shows cos of that”

I think we have a clear leader for out yearly funniest comment award.

Shoes and feet seem to feature prominently when it comes to reasons why Fitmates were unable to attend Boot Camp.

Funny Fitness Story: On Valentines Day had cycling accident, big bruise, partners response “That is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen”

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Funny Fitness story this morning at bootcamp, Chris & Kate went cycling on Valentines Day to the local hills, on the way back Kate’s bicycle chain malfunctioned and she was forced to pull over into a nearby driveway.

Unfortunately her front wheel got stuck in the gutter and over the handle bars she went sustaining considerable side impact damage to the hip & shoulder region. The resulting accident produced an extremely bruised hip with a colourful array of the typical bruising colours, deep purples and reds. Chris’s immediate response was, “That is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen”..following it up the next day with “I think it has gotten worse”. A true romantic at heart:))
