Last minute exercise on wedding day – 10km run with mother & bride. Now that is dedication & commitment.
Tuesday, October 20th, 2009Funny Fitness Story, last minute exercise on wedding day -mother & Bride go on 10km run on wedding day.
What a great way to help with any last minute nerves.
I went to a wedding in country Victoria on the weekend and was suitably impressed about the Bride going on a 10km run at 6.30am, normally a brisk walk followed by champagne and breakfast is in order.
Well when you have a super mum who performs well at ironman triathlon events, a 10km run is the equivalent of a brisk walk for the average person.
The most amazing thing was the weather was far from spectacular, cold and overcast with a chilly breeze coming off the lake yet when the bride arrived the sun projected just enough beautiful warm light for the bride to walk down the aisle of this outdoor ceremony before resuming back to the cold & grey weather.
Even the 2 band members were wearing Goretex jackets and beanies, yet the weather delivered as preciously as required.
So thinking positively will deliver positive outcomes.
So there are no excuses when it comes to exercise, maybe not to be repeated to often for a mother and bride to go on a 10km run before on the wedding day.
Bands playing at our usual melbourne Boot camp location
Monday, October 19th, 2009Great to see our usual Melbourne park used for Boot camp being used by the local community.

Great that our Melbourne Parks support such a diverse range of use from our Boot camps to bands.
Never too old to exercise
Wednesday, August 19th, 2009After a recent trip to Italy, I was impressed by the locals who showed that you are never too old to exercise.
While there I managed to take some fantastic sneaky video footage of retiree’s enjoying their early morning exercise in the Dolomites.
Check it out and be inspired!
Another very inspiring person is 83 year old Bette Calman who still teaches yoga.
While we all have excused not too exercise, “too tired”, “too unfit”, these spritely 70 year olds show that age is no barrier to keeping healthy and fit, so make a start today, you are never too old to exercise.
We need to spend more time relaxing on holidays, switching off and unwinding from the day to day duties that consume our lives.
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009Relaxing on holidays, switching off and unwinding.
We need to spend more time relaxing on holidays, switching off and unwinding from the day to day duties that consume our lives.
If we have a consciously or unconsciously have an expectation of receiving a phone call or an email our minds are constantly on alert and not relaxed.
When traveling on a country train overseas, I decided to catch up on some sleep. Then suddenly the door separating 2 carriages abruptly tried to open & close. While being in a semi dormant state I thought the door would remain closed, well it didn’t and the pattern was repeated 6 annoying times.
Could I fall back to sleep, maybe but the expectation of the door slamming keep me awake and not very relaxed.
Eventualy 30 minutes into the trip the door sorted itself out and stopped opening & closing but I didn’t know this at the time.
So for the next hour I was waiting for the door to open & close, still feeling comfortable that this event may re occur even though it didn’t.
Fast forward back to your holiday and is waiting for that email or phone call like that banging door?
Learn to truly have a relaxing holiday by switching off and unwinding, you, your family or partner will be very happy.
