What you focus on consciously or unconsciously is what you get, whether good or bad. Think positive outcomes.

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

We need to focus on positive outcomes. Have you ever been highly focused on a particular event or situation in your life and found that you have manifested the exact opposite of what you were trying to avoid. You are focusing on bad things happening which isn’t a very productive use your thought processes.
Think about the person who always mention that they are in continual debt, that every time the go to check the mail it is another bill. What they are really focusing on is getting bills, the last thing you think about before you go to bed or the first thing before you rise is how much debt you have, how it is just getting more worse day by day.

Well chances are you will get exactly what you inadvertently ask for in a way that you didn’t really expect.
Now imagine that everyday you focus on clearly your debts, saying to yourself that you will find a solution to your current economic woes, that everything will be ok.
Over a period of time you will predispose yourself to situations, people and events that will bring you closer to improving your financial situation.

Last night I was thinking that I really needed a good nights sleep and guess what happened, for the first time a car alarm went off a 3.44am non stop for 1 hour, it wasn’t your usual type of alarm with varying tones that lasts for 5 minutes but a high level course sound that even penetrated my ear plugs. So guess what, I perpetuated exactly what I was focusing on, coincidence, maybe, maybe not:))

Take a look at lance Armstrong who focuses consciously & unconsciously on winning the Le Tour de France, he has a phenomenal belief system.
He doesn’t focus on the negatives, that is he going against the odds given his age & not having raced for 3.5 years, only one focus and that is winning.

So start thinking more positively today so you are more focused on getting more positive outcomes.

The mobile phone, the ubiquitous piece of technology that touches every part of our daily lives, is down time a forgotten luxury?

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Our daily lives have become an ensemble of constant contact, where is the “me” time.
The humble mobile phone is now connecting us in so many ways, surfing the net, checking emails, sms and making/receiving phone calls when ever, where ever, no place is sacred.

How often do you find yourself with some spare time, whether waiting for an appointment, the train, a bus, maybe stuck in traffic yet we are driven to/make reply to emails, sms, phone friends or family because our downtime has been chrunched by work and modern society.

Have we lost the ability to relax, to give ourselves a break from the conveyor belt of life.
It’s ok to sit there, thinking about nice stuff, maybe about your partner, family or friends, maybe about how to improve the day by making some positive changes. By having some downtime we can process all those thoughts swirling in our minds.
We don’t need the constant interaction with technology, like anything it’s about moderation, be it food, alcohol and raspberry & white chocolate muffins, we need to define some boundaries and avoid the trap of falling back into regular patterns of behavior.

Are you falling into the sidewalk/footpath holes in your life? We can make positive changes to our life to avoid life’s holes

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Do you keep falling into the same hole on the sidewalk – footpath, make positive changes.
It’s time to make some positive changes in your life to avoid falling into the same hole.

There is a great story by Portia Nelson titled “THERE’S A HOLE IN MY SIDEWALK” covered in 5 short chapters.

The great thing about life is we can keep repeating the same actions or behaviors or we can learn from the experience and over a period of time make positive changes that ultimately make falling down the holes of life a thing of the past.

Chapter One
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost …. I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter Two
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend that I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
But, it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter Three
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in … it’s a habit … but, my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter Four
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter Five
I walk down another street.

So we are you and where would you rather be, either keep falling into the sidewalk – footpath holes or make some positive changes.

“Something good will come from this”, a great story of how having an open mind leads to unexpected positive events. Believe good things happen

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

I heard a great story about a King who loved to go deer hunting, back in the dark ages.
Going deer hunting was an activity the King used to relax and remove him self from the regular pressures of running the kingdom.
Due to the responsibilities of being the King, his fabled deer hunting activities were no more so the Queen enlisted the help of a person known to have good fortune and luck. Such luck would help the King find the deer (apparently deer are hard to find as the bow and arrow is there natural enemy).
So off the King went one day to hunt deer with this person of good luck, within no time had they entered the forest that a deer appeared, the King drew his bow and within seconds the deer had fallen victim to the Kings arrow, unfortunately the deer was still alive so the King went to his faithful bearer of good fortune and asked for a knife to ends the deers suffering.

In a moment of haste, the man of good fortune dres his knife and in the process cut the finger tip of the Kings finger. “What have you done, you are useless, this is not good fortune, off to the dungeons for you” expelled the King, “Something good will come from this” said the person of good fortune.

This only antagonised and infuriated the King even more, so the person of good fortune repeated “Something good will come from this”.

Well off to the dungeon he went, with the person of good fortune “Something good will come from this”.
After a few weeks passed, the King decided to go deer hunting again but this time alone, off he went deep into the forest. Not a deer to be seen so he continued deeper and deeper, before long he was lost, it was getting darker and the all mighty King was getting a little concerned.

Before long he heard some voices in the distance, louder and louder the voices got until he was surrounded by savages.
The leader of the tribe was most happy with his find as the tribe performed regular sacrifices to the gods for continued good fortune. Sacrificing a King was the ultimate offering to the gods so soon the King was in the middle of a Bon fire. The leader of the tribe went to the King and noticed that he was missing his finger tip, “well we cannot make a sacrifice when the person is incomplete, without their finger tip.

So they untied the King and sent him on his way.
Back in the kingdom the King went back to the dungeon to tell the person of good fortune that he was right about something good will come off this. he apologised for the appalling conditions of only bread and water.

The person of good fortune said to the King that something good happened for him as he could have been with the King and been sacrificed:)))

So the moral of the story is you never quite know how one event will effect future events.
As there were hundreds of events that lead to the King losing his finger, there were equally a lot of events since and more events in the future.

“Me Change”, how the GFC can be the catalyst for a positive life change…

Monday, May 18th, 2009

With job losses, redundancies and looming uncertainity, people are taking the opportunity to realise their dreams and reassess their life.

Today I spoke with Mike Englisch who has moved from the Corporate World to pursue a business idea he had 10 years ago.

While the wages were fabulous the associated stresses made seeking an alternative very attractive however like so many of us it was difficult making the next step.
So along comes the GFC, Mike’s work situation changes and suddenly he is forced to make life changes, or as Mike enthusiastically shouts, “Make things happen” So what has happened, www.mikesmobilecycleservice.com.au a growing mobile bicycle repair business, hapiness and the start of a new life while being altruistic about his future.
