Mental diet for weight loss

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

How we feel about ourselves has an enormous effect on our actions. The big one that holds us back is fear yet we continue to entertain these thoughts.

What we really need to be doing is going on a mental diet for weight loss and limiting the consumption of these thoughts.

Do you have negative thoughts, is your mind churning through this negativity on a weekly, daily or hourly basis.
If you are constantly focused on these thought patterns, you will perpetuate this line of thinking with little chance of success.

Does this sound familiar? I can’t; there is no point; can’t succeed anyway; that person X is kucky; they can eat what they want; I just look at food and put on weight; too busy; wasting my time; I hate the way I look; the way I feel; nothing looks good on me; I’m unattractive; I feel fat.

Don’t sabotage yourself with these junk thoughts, get onto your mind diet today.

When projecting your thoughts, the energy is projected into the universe and great things can happen.
Just before Christmas I was meeting some friends for an early morning breakfast at a cafe when I received a call on my mobile that she had a flat pram tyre.

Knowing that I was a cyclist, she thought I may have a pump in the car. Well a person walking past overheard the phone conversation and being familiar with the pram model suggested that she use the pump that was hidden under the main carriage.

The really amazing thing was this was that this was at 8.00am at The Melbourne Tan where apart from joggers there was nobody around.

So who would have believed by just thinking about needing a tyre pump on a subconscious level would attract the right person to provide assistance.
It’s all about having a positive attitude and believing that everything will be ok.

If you Project positive thoughts, you will receive positive outcomes. Getting food poisoning led to a sequence of events to buy a video camera below cost

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

What we are thinking can have positive outcomes based on what our mind is projecting.
Who would have thought a bad case of food poisoning would lead me to buying the video camera I wanted but couldn’t afford.

Imagine projecting positive thoughts about being healthier and happier with your life.

After eating some sushi with chicken on Monday, yes it’s the Australianised version, I contracted food poisoning with the associated headache, rise in body temperature and exhaling of the stomach contents at 2am. (that will teach me for eating something that is otherwise healthy without the fried chicken)
Fortunately I wasn’t running a bootcamp the following day so after a sleep in on Tuesday and a late start in the office, I struggled through the morning and left for home in the early afternoon to recuperate.

After a snooze, I woke up at 6pm and decided to catch up on some overdue reading, starting with Fridays paper I noticed an advertisement from one of our largest retailers promoting a giant 4 day sale.
I never read these sales ads as I’m not a very good consumer, so there it was, my preferred video camera $500 below RRP and $250 below the cheapest price I was quoted.
Mmm, problem, day 5 equals no special price.
The day before, a friend mentioned he could buy the camera just above the wholesale price through a mate who worked at an electrical discounter.

Wednesday morning, I ran the bootcamps as normal and headed to the office and found out the special price from my mate’s supplier is $300 below RRP.
Well I rang up the large Australian retailer, visualising the camera there, that the price will still be honoured and it will be the demo floor stock model and upon arriving at the store, the salesman I spoke to will be told off for honoring the price.

So guess what, all of the above happened, I received my floor stock camera at the advertised price and the salesman was told off but I still received the camera.

There was a study performed by a Japanese scientist who conducted an experiment to determine whether projecting thoughts or speech will effect the structure of water crystals.
The experiment was successful.

So if you are looking to make some changes in your life, start with what you are projecting, be it for weight loss or a healthier lifestyle, with the belief you can achieve anything in life.

Think of your mind like an orchestra, you are the conductor in control of your thoughts. There are different sections of the orchestra, just like your mind

Think of your mind like an orchestra, you are the conductor in control of your thoughts.
There are different sections of the orchestra, woodwind, brass, strings and percussion as you have in your mind, happiness, sadness, joy, fear, greed and many more forming part of the overall sound produced.

The great thing is that you are the conductor and can choose which thoughts to include. Imagine if you were Beethoven composing the 5th symphony and all of the sudden you heard the sounds of tribal drums banging out the bass in the background.
Now just because beethoven heard these sounds does he need to take ownership and include them in this composition? They would be dismissed as Beethoven has the control over what is composed, what is appropriate to the piece for the overall feeling and sound.

Now fast forward to 2009, you are saying to yourself that you really wont to lose weight, feel healthier and have the energy to play with you children, yet in the background all of these random thoughts are circulating: you’re hopeless, you’re fat, you’re a loser, who am I kidding, it’s too hard, why bother.

Like a conductor we must control which thoughts we keep and take ownership for while the junk thoughts get thrown in the rubbish bin.
The great thing is we can control the thoughts the same way a conductor controls the orchestra, imagine if in the opening sonata that the trombone player starts to play either at the wrong time or something which is not part of the musical piece, what happens? Is the trombone player allowed to continue or is he swiftly ordered to cease playing?

Similarly take control of the junk thoughts and only keep the positive thoughts just like the orchestra take control.

Failure is only an event, not a lifestyle so keep it positive & look at these unplanned events as drawing us closer to our final goal.

Failure is only an event, not a lifestyle so change your thinking.
Keep it positive & look at these unplanned events as drawing us closer to our final goal.

Like the old saying goes, we learn from our mistake or rather I like to keep it positive and look at these unplanned events and drawing us closer to our final goal.

If you go jogging to keep healthy and trip over a stick on the foot path, do you stop jogging as you are fearful of tripping over again or do you learn from the experience and pay more attention to where you are jogging?

Alternatively you can keep focusing on looking for something that you may trip over and guess what, you will find it and repeat the tripping event over and over again.

So rather start to view a failure as an event and change your thinking.
