Believing in yourself – having a home gig in your own lounge room

Monday, March 1st, 2010

You can make whatever you wont to happen if you believe in yourself. A friend of mine being like myself likes to be in bed before midnight, mmmm, actually 10.30pm most nights so going out and seeing live music can be challenging. Most bands don’t start playing until 10-11pm so it ends up being a very late night.

So my friend Richard decides if I can’t get to see the bands, why can’t the bands come to me, or to my lounge room.

project positive thoughts leads to having bands playing in your lounge room

Well this is the sixth time bands have played in Richard’s lounge room and were talking about quality Australian music with Leah Flanagan and The Yealings playing over the weekend. A review from Tom Jellett from the Weekend Australian “The Yearlings’ previous albums have hinted at great things to come and Highway Dancing may just be it.

Great to see bands playing in Melbourne homes

So thee were 2 ways at looking at what Richard did, firstly you can say who will play in my lounge room at all net alone for free or look at the situation positively and think that this is an opportunity for local bands to extend there audience.

Ultimately it’s all about projecting positive thoughts and energy, Richard know gets approached by not only local but international artists.

So think about this for all areas of your life, whether it is weight loss or being happier in your life, ultimately you can make it happen.

Do something nice every day and project positive energy. This week I donated $500 worth of Boot camp classes, today great things happened

Do something nice every day and project positive energy.

This week I donated $500 worth of Boot camp classes to the local primary school for there school fete. I dropped off the vouchers at 8.00am on Wednesday morning so the school was all but empty except the tuck shop lady who was preparing for the days lunches. I asked if the vouchers could be passed onto the fete co-ordinator, we started chatting about the fete and the prizes I was offering which lead to speaking about our Boot camps.
With our wet winter I also mentioned about the need for a covered area an she informed me that they were building a new sporting hall next year:))

Strangely enough the tuck shop lady said that she has seen our boot camps as she walks past in the mornings and has always been interested in joining. Well this morning I decided to conduct the class at the meeting point which is beside the main road which I rarely do, out of the blue the tuck shop lady appeared with the fete co-ordinator, we chatted briefly.

So change your mind set and do something nice today and start to project positive energy.

Today will be a great day, I started today with this thought & ended up doing a bunch ride with Bradley Wiggins, 4th in Tour de France 2009

Today will be a great day, it’s all about projecting your thoughts.
I started today with this thought & ended up doing a bunch ride with Bradley Wiggins, 4th in 2009 Tour de France and Gold at the Beijing Olympics.

As Kevin Costner famously said in the movie, “If you build it, he will come.”.
Well think of your mind like the corn field in the movie, about believing that great things can happen. If you truly believe, it will happen.

Well after waking at this morning, eyes barely open and squinting, I look in the mirror (not a pretty site at 5.00am) and said “today will be a great day”

After running our Melbourne Bootcamp, headed to the office, fired up the computer and started to compose a blog. I went to Twitter to make sure that I had reached the 140 character limit when I quickly looked at the Twitters (I follow some very busy twitterers which equates to a twitter every 2 seconds being displayed).

By believing it will be a great day, great things happened

To my amazement I saw a twitter from Bradley Wiggins, forth overrall winner in this years Tour de France asking “Long Shot anyone fancy a ride at 3.30 from St Kilda” at the very top of twitters.
Now I only follow 2 Pro cyclists, Bradley Wiggins and Lance Armstrong, and I rarely read very Twitter otherwise I would need an extra 24 hours in the day. I replied with a suggested meeting place, bradley replied back with a venue he was familiar with, well 40 other cyclists meet up for the ride as well.

Two and a half hours later we returned and I even managed to get a quick interview.
The funny thing is Bradley would not have continued for riding for 90 kms had no one had shown up as roads can be quite dangerous when riding alone. So for Bradley there was a belief that he would find people to ride with.

So it may seem a bit weird and strange but the very first thought when you ride from your unconscious state in the morning (or afternoon/evening if your a shift worker) is today will be a great day and start projecting positive thoughts

Change your belief system to lose weight. Is your mind resisting the change and throwing up obstacles to sabotage the success of your goal.

Changing your belief systems to lose weigh
Once you have decided to lose weight, your mind will be resisting the change and throwing up obstacles to sabotage the success of your new mind set.

When we decide to change, for example to lose weight we undergo numerous steps before we reach the final decision to change on a conscious level.
On a deeper level, our mind is still undergoing neurological change, trying to re wire the pathways, the road maps of our mind that has lead us on the same destructive path year after year.

During this transition period your mind will create barriers to change, you become sick, workloads increase at the office, unexpected events happens such as relationships begining or ending, things happen that prevent you making a change, financial events occur, these events may be viewed as road blocks that your mind is creating to stop change occuring.

Do you say
I will lose weight when I’m ready
No understands or cares
It’s not the right time
It’s the way I am

Your beliefs
It’s to hard
I don’t have the time
It can’t be done
I don’t believe I can lose weight
I’m not strong enough

Your justifications
I don’t know who can help me
It’s just a waste of time anyway
Venus isn’t in alignment with Jupiter
Its too cold and wet
When the time is right or when XXXX happens I’II do it
Too busy with work/family/socialising

How we view ourselves
Not worthy
Not good enough
Too heavy
Too overweight
Not mentally strong enough
Not a valuable member of society
Dislike ourselves

Acceptance of body size
Even though I’m heavy, I’m healthy
People are prejudice
People should accept me for how I am
Fashion caters to overweight people

Fear of change
I will fail
What will people think
I have to many injuries
I can only eat certain types of foods
I cannot afford fitness training or fancy meals
I need to spend or my energy on my family

You have to believe in change, you feel it, visualise it, then mentally you can re program the road map of your mind.

A good friend of mine for years has struggled to either create or keep wealth, similiar to wanting to lose weight, their beliefs predisposed them to activities that ensured that I would never accumulate wealth, poor job selections, excess expenditure on non essential things.

Recently they decided to empower themselves and make the change by not only repeating in their mind that they can create wealth but are worthy of having wealth.
Their whole perspective changed, a shift was beginning to happen.

The catalysist of change happened during this poignant moment when my friend was dreaming of being held prisoner by a gang who demanded that my friend hand over all of their money so that the gang could gamble it at the casino.
Failure to comply would result in an unfavourable outcome.

This represented a transitionally period, that change was being resisted on a subconscious level, yet it was extremely positive as the person was progressing through the stages to move them to financial independance.

Similarly in losing weight, you will undergo similar changes subconsciously but how you handle this resistance and move forward will underline your success or failure.

Ultimately you have to move to the final level of:
I love myself (not in an ego arrogant sort of way)
I am moving closer to my ideal weight
Everyday I am feeling stronger and more positive

So the real question is are you ready to change your belief system to lose weight?
