Cadel Evans – Inspirational people – Wins Tour De France – never lose sight of goals

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

Cadel Evans Tour de France win was an amazing effort from a truly inspirational person. It’s also a great story that highlights the importance of never losing sight of your goals.

Cadel Evans wins 2011 Toour De France

After coming overall second in the 2007 and 2008 Tour de France by tiny margins (23 seconds and 58 seconds respectively), even Cadel admits most people had written him off.

Yet his refusal to give up, no matter how extreme the situation, shows us all that we, too, can be triumphant when we focus on our goals. I like the saying:
perserverance overides resistancee.

Never give up, Cadel Evans total inspiration to never give up

It was a do or die moment. Cadel faced a seemingly insurmountable task that could have lost him the race. After three failed attempts at the Tour de France, and with only the narrowest of losing margins, it would have been quite easy to give up.

But this was moment that Cadel’s fighting spirit, self belief and extraordinarily strong-minded determination allowed him to overcome a very desperate situation and excel.

We all have our personal battles, small or large. However, we can climb those personal mountains if we truly believe in our abilities and the possibility of success.

Too often our limiting beliefs stop us from achieving levels of greatness, even if the challenge is as small as making simple changes to our diet to reduce the chances of diabetes or cardio vascular disease.

I really like the idea of using Cadel’s “never give up” philosophy as a tool to believing in ourselves.

Life can be as wonderful and awesome as you make it. Cadel’s win is testimony to the fact that years of heartache, anguish, frustration and anxiety can lead to a wonderful crescendo of happiness and fulfilment.

Jessica Watson an inspirational person

Monday, May 17th, 2010

What an inspirational person Jessica Watson is for her epic journey to circumnavigate the world.
It shows you what a strong belief in yourself can accomplish, a feat many people said wasn’t possible for someone so young or without the necessary ocean experience.

Well with lots of determination and a never give up attitude she successfully completed this amazing journey in 10 months covering a staggering 38,000kms. Against everything that mother nature can conjure up from 10meter seas, 60knot winds, strong currents, treacherous conditions and an early incident with a bulk carrier ship, Jessica’s strength shone through.

What can be achieve with positive thinking

Think about the fatigue involved in being alert for 24 hours a days, every day for 210 days, the physical and mental exhaustion.

The biggest part was the psychological side as the isolation and loneliness at being out of sea without any personal contact for such a long period of time. The other big thing that stops most of us is fear of failure or doubting that we can succeed.

Self belief and positive thinking

In her own words “I’m just an ordinary girl who believes in her dreams, believe in it and work hard”. She is absolutely awesome with such an amazing attitude and belief “proof what can be achieved if you set your mind, anything is possible” She went further by saying that it’s overcoming small challenges and moving in small steps.

It was only 12 months ago that Susan Boyle proved that if you truly believe anything is possible.

One thing that was great was that Jessica craved fresh fruit apart from the usual chocolate requests.

Everyone of us has our own unique journey or dream, for some it’s to be healthier, lose weight and live a better life. If you have the belief system, anything is possible.

Weight Loss Tip: if you lack control, resist the temptation to buy sweets & chocolate

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

It’s the simple things that help weight loss, today’ tip is about resisting the temptation to buy all the energy rich, fatty food that tastes yummy but is hard to resist.

I was talking to a Fitmate who lacked the self control and discipline when it came to chocolate and ice cream. Actually I’d say a lot of people have a weakness, especially the home made variety. Rather than rationing the chocolate over a few weeks or even a month it became a competitive eating event to finish off the sweets as soon as possible. Every hour of every day, the temptation was too strong to resist, whether you are eating for emotional reasons, for comfort or enjoyment it’s these re-occurring thought patterns that take over.

The simple solution is too remove the temptation all together by simply not buying the sweets in the first place. I’m not saying to go cold turkey and remove the fun food from your life but key strategies need to be adopted until the thought patterns leading to chocolate eating feasts are changed.

Like anything is life, if you can get through the cold turkey period of withdrawals, in time your body will no longer crave these sugary, fatty treats. Belive it or not, your body can adapt to change.
