Centrum de Castella Run 2007
When: Sunday 26th August 2007
Where: The Yarra bend, Kew
The Centrum de Castella Run course follows the Yarra Boulevard through Yarra Bend National Park in Kew. It is one of Melbourne's toughest runs, yet one of the most scenic. In its 27th year, the “Deek” is a vintage event and not to be missed on Melbourne's running calendar.

The day commences early with a massage and warm up classes before starting at 9am on Nolan Ave, Kew. A secure area is provided for runners to store their gear during the run.

Prizes include medallions for first male and female finishers in each event (except 5km walk), as well as special prizes for various age categories in the run events.

Super veteran (over 60), veteran (45-60), open (19-44), youth (14-18) and junior (under 14).

The after-run celebrations include a sausage sizzle, drinks and music.

Race results will be later posted on this website.

Thanks for your entry for this year’s Centrum de
Castella Run.  Attached is your run number.
Because you are pre-registered you only need to
assemble at the start line by 9am wearing your
run number and you are ready to go.

Some of the activities and services provided on
the day include:

Massage and warm up class
Be there early and enjoy a massage before the
race (or one after as well) and also a warm up in
the gym at around 8.40am.

Clothes storage
If you need to leave gear, go to the gym and you
can check in your clothes or bags.

Toilets and change rooms
We have facilities in the gym that you can use.

Health and safety
We have two St John Ambulances available.
One at the start/finish and the other at the 5km
turnaround on the Boulevard.
We also have at least three water stations on the
course.  There will also be a water station at the
finish line.

Food and drink and show bags
We have a sausage sizzle at the race conclusion,
as well as coffee for sale.  Entrants will also
receive some complimentary hand outs on
completion of the course along with a drink.

T-shirts
These have been sold to order this year and can
be collected at the gym.  Those who have placed
orders only need to go to the t-shirt counter and
we will have your shirt waiting for you.  There
will be a small number of t-shirts for sale on the
day

Car parking
Please observe parking signs and do not park on
the grass in front of the school.  We are intending
to have parking on the oval (off McEvoy St at
rear of Burke Hall, Melways 2D H11 – weather
permitting) and there will be parking marshals
available to direct traffic.  Parking on Studley
Park Road and also Hodgson St is permitted.
Nolan St will be closed to traffic to allow runners
to use this road.

Keep left on the way out and right on the way
back
We need to ask runners to keep left as they run
on the course and not obstruct cars.  The road is
NOT closed although the speed limit is reduced
to 40 km/hr.  When your turn around to return to
Burke Hall you will stay on the same side (ie
right side).  Runners disregarding marshals will
risk disqualification.  Sorry but it is to protect
runners safety and to make sure we do not
obstruct traffic.

Medals for winners
We have 5 age categories for each run event for
both male and female.  We will present medals
on the day to the first male and female in each of
the run events.  Age category winners will
receive their medals by mail and all results will
be on the web generally within 24 to 36 hours.

Please note the 5km Walk is a participation event
only.  No walker prizes or times recorded.

The organisers reserve the right to determine
winners and will resolve any disputes or
disqualifications at their absolute discretion.
Runners who do not complete the entire course
or do not stay on course will not be eligible to
win their respective events.
