Calendar Update for Event 2009

The 2007/08 Gatorade Triathlon Series will host Melbourne's only Olympic distance triathlon at Sandringham for race three and continue the Portarlington Triathlon for its 22nd year - an event not to be missed. The series will also host two races at St Kilda's pictureque Catani Gardens and two races at Elwood beach voted the most popular venue of last series. Last year almost 12,000 people particpated in the Gatorade Triathlon Series from world champions to first timers and this year we are looking forward to seeing more competitors flock to this rapidly growing sport.

2006-07 Series Wrap Up

Congratulations to all competitors who took part in the 2006/07 Gatorade Triathlon Series. Almost 8000 participants from elites through to clydesdales, 15 year olds through to 80 year olds competed throughout the six races. It was fantastic to see so many first timers to the sport turning out at St Kilda for Race 1 back in November and to hear them exchanging stories like pros after Race 6 in Portarlington.

The season presented many highlights and challengers for competitors and organisers a like. Race 5 in Geelong gave participants a chance to test their endurance over the Olympic distance and then sit back and watch the world's best slug it out over the same course. Race 2 at Elwood was hot and smokey which, much to the delight of most competitors, saw the introduction of our Extreme Heat Policy for Race 4. This policy is now being considered by Triathlon Australia as a standard procedure for all events. Race 4 also saw three time world champion Peter 'Robbo' Robertson compete in the elite field along with New Zealand Iron Man champion Ain Alar Juhanson carving up the 30-34 age group.

Many of our innovations for the season were warmly welcomed by competitors including a detailed results email which was usually sitting in the inbox by 3pm on Sunday afternoon. Commendations must go to blueChip timing who produced accurate and fast results right throughout the season.

SuperSprint are always looking to continually improve and raise the bar and planning is already well underway for the 2007/08 series. If you have any suggestions you think might help make the 07/08 series better we would love to hear them. Please send us an email at info@supersprint.com.au

SuperSprint would like to thank all competitors, sponsors and spectators for their ongoing support of the series. All the best with your winter training and we look forward to seeing you in November.
