Port to Park 1.1km swim 2008
When: Saturday 3 February 2007 at 9.30am

Distance: 1.1km Swim

EVENT:    Port to Park (1.1km Swim)                Start time: 10:30am


ENTRY FEE:    $35.00  (includes swim cap and event t-shirt)
(For entries received at South Melbourne Lifesaving Club or online prior to 12pm Wednesday 31st January 2007)

LATE ENTRY FEE:    $45.00  (includes swim cap and event t-shirt)
Late entries will be accepted on race day from 8.00am

REGISTRATION:    Registration will begin at 8.00am and close at 9.45am on Saturday 3rd February 2007

AGE DIVISIONS:    Open   
    Jnr boys/girls 12-17 yrs  
    Snr Men/Women 30-39 yrs
    Masters Men/Women 40-49 yrs    50-59 yrs    60-69 yrs     70+yrs   
    AGE ON DAY OF SWIM

PRIZES:    1ST, 2ND & 3RD prizes will be awarded in each age category for male and female competitors.

SAFETY:    The swimming course in the Port to Park Swim will be marked out with cans and will be patrolled by IRB’s and surf ski paddlers. A fully equipped medical tent will be present on the beach with trained medical staff. A fluid station will be available.

Each competitor is responsible for his or her own physical condition and enters the event at his or her own personal risk.  Any competitor who is still out on the course after 90 minutes will be asked to default and assisted to return to the start/finish via IRB.

The organisers reserve the right to cancel the 1km Port to Park swim course on the day if it is deemed that weather conditions (in particular wind) are too dangerous to swim.  Cancellation will be broadcasted on the morning of the event before 9.00am through available media outlets and from South Melbourne LSC.

PRESENTATIONS:    Presentations will be made at approximately 11am, on the balcony of South Melbourne Life Saving Club. All Prize Winners MUST be present to collect their prizes.

OTHER CONDITIONS:    To ensure fair competition no individual escort boat, surf ski or board paddler will be permitted to accompany swimmers. Flotation devices and fins are prohibited. (Wet suits may be worn)
