A joint event organized by Aspendale Life Saving Club and Edithvale Life Saving Club, the Club to Club swim is part of the 2008 St Vincent's Herald Sun Swim Series

THE COURSE

(i) This is a 1.5 kilometre straight line swim
(ii) Swim around the first large marker buoy then swim parallel to the shore, keeping the buoys to your right.
(iii) There will be small marker buoys placed along the course; these are just for guidance, swim either side of these. Another large buoy will be about halfway.
(iv) At the end of the straight line section there will be another large marker buoy. Keeping this on your right, swim at an angle towards the finishing chute marked with the same flags as the start flags.

THE FINISH

Upon leaving the water run a short distance through the finish chute. Then remove the ankle-band, put it in the marked container, and make your way out of the finish area to the refreshment area.

SAFETY

As this is an open water event you may experience choppy water and tidal movement. We cannot control these factors. Please allow for these factors when swimming this event. Edithvale and Aspendale will have rescue personnel on boards and IRB’s in the water. Your safety is the upmost in this event. If you require assistance, raise your arm and we will get you to the beach where our foot patrols will assist you. If necessary, the four-wheel drive will take you to the Aspendale Lifesaving Club. All first aid will be carried out at the Aspendale Lifesaving Club. Course officials shall have the authority to disqualify any competitors.

PRIZES AND PRESENTATIONS

Winners and place-getters in all age groups are required at the presentation stage from 11:30am wearing their 2008 Club to Club Swim T-Shirt. Prepaid entrants will be only eligible for spot prizes. The winners of spot prizes will have a spot on their race bag. The prizes can be collected at Aspendale on completion of the race.

THE SUNDAY AGE SWIM CHALLENGE

The 2008 Club to Club Swim is proud to be a part of the 2008 St Vincent's Herald Sun Swim Series, a competition for recreational swimmers who take part in individual swims over summer. The competition comprises 20 swims, including the Club to Club swim, with competitors gaining points for each swim they complete. Prizes include wetsuits and holidays.
