JOIN IN THE RUN WITH ME…I’ve run the 45km Great Ocean Road Marathon three times, and take it from me, it is one of the world’s most spectacular runs.I also had a crack at the 14km Apollo Bay-Paradise race in 2006, and any run to Paradise and back has got to be special! The scenery for all four events over the marathon weekend is stunningly beautiful. And the Great Ocean Road is closed to all traffic. This makes it a unique opportunity to run this magnificent icon without vehicular interference. The whole running festival is about experiencing the coastline. Who cares if the events are not the traditional spot-on marathon and half-marathon distances? The camaraderie is great too! This website is designed to give competitors and supporters as much information as possible about the marathon weekend. You can enter on-line, and there is a links page pointing to accommodation venues and tourism destinations.I’d recommend this weekend to anybody. For pure enjoyment in a breathtaking part of the world, you can’t beat the Great Ocean Road Running Festival.Steve MoneghettiPatron
