Run Melbourne, presented by The Age, is Victoria’s new major community fitness event. Choose your own challenge — 5km run/walk, 7.5km walk, 10km run or a half-marathon through the most picturesque parts of our city. And whether you run it, walk it or just amble along, the further you go the better you’ll feel because every K you put behind you is another opportunity to put a $ in the tin of your favourite charity. Follow our weekly training program every weekend in The Sunday Age to help you prepare for this year’s event. The progressive training schedule will start in late April and will include a program for both beginners and experienced runners.

No matter what your fitness level or event aspirations, join our weekly training group in preparation for Run Melbourne, presented by The Age.Whether you are a serious athlete or just starting to exercise, these weekly training groups are for you. 5km, 10km and half marathon courses will be available to join. Three different pace groups will go out on each course, taken by experienced run leaders. This is a great opportunity to set your target and ask the experts for any tips and tactics. A separate speed work session is available on Wednesday’s that will strengthen, motivate and improve your speed and overall fitness.

Time: 5:45pm for a 6pm start
What’s On: 5km and 10km course with an additional speed work group.
SATURDAY MORNING FEDERATION SQUARE
Where: Atrium, Flinders St opposite Forum. (Melways ref: 2F H5)
Time: 8:45am for a 9am start.
What’s On: 5km, 10km and half marathon training that will build from 10km up to 18km over the 12 week period.
