US Olympian PattiSue Plumer once said that racing teaches us to challenge ourselves, to push beyond where we thought we could go, to find out what we are made of.

Whether you are an Olympian or aspiring Olympian the challenge is very personal and that will be the case when more than 1200 line up for the Brazilian Butterfly Queen of the Lake on Sunday, 8 February.

Traditionally an all female affair, the 2009 edition will have a light sprinkling of males in the field for the 5 or 10km run or walk around Albert Park Lake.

You can still enter online or enter on the day at the Palms Lawn (Mel ref 2K F7) from 7am for the 8:30am start.
