The National Heart Foundation recommends we eat two 150-gram servings of seafood per week.
They have a range of health benefits including:
• Better eyesight – the omega-3 fatty acids in seafood have been shown to lower the risk of developing adult blindness.
• Less stress – containing zinc, protein and omega-3s, they lessen stress levels.
• Better immunity – a rich source of immune-boosting minerals zinc and iron.
• Less sunburn – a UK study found eating fish oil capsules equal to three portions of fish a week improved
resistance to harmful UV rays by 33 per cent. (But don’t skip the sunscreen!)
