Welcome to the second staging of the Herald Sun/CityLink Run for the Kids!
You will notice we've made a few changes for the 2007 event, including a new course and changes to the start/finish locations. These changes were necessary to ensure the event could safely accommodate all participants while minimising the impact on Melbourne's normal activities.
Many of you will recall that entries to the 2006 event had to be closed earlier than scheduled due to the overwhelming demand for participation in the inaugural event. The decision to cap the field at 20,000 was made to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Race director Steve Moneghetti said at the time that the response to the 2006 event had been "nothing short of phenomenal. No other fun run in Australia has achieved so much support in its first year".
The 2007 event will also be capped, however the limit has been increased to 30,000 participants. Race organisers are hoping that this announcement of the field limit will encourage entrants to register early and avoid disappointment.
So go on, let your feet do the talking and help raise money for the kids. Register NOW!
