Core members of Speak Percussion, Matthias Schack-Arnott and Eugene Ughetti, are experienced in playing in a host of orchestral, improvisational and new music ensembles and forging new artistic collaborations. Speak Percussion’s new duo work Driftwood presents two 5 octave marimbas deconstructed and strewn throughout a performance/installation space. The work re-contextualises the marimba and explores it as a sonic, cultural and historical artefact.
Robbie Avenaim is the founder of Australia’s largest showcase of local and international experimental music, the What Is Music Festival.
