The 91kms of the rail trail from Wangaratta to Bright takes in the amazing scenery of the Ovens and King Valleys and the alpine high country escarpment.

Enjoy the picturesque towns that dot the route commencing at Wangaratta. From there it’s a great ride first to Beechworth then Myrtleford, Porepunkah and finally Bright.

If cycling isn't your thing, bring your own pony and cart or you can even walk the shorter seven kilometre section from Bright to Porepunkah and enjoy a yummy lunch at the Rail Trail Cafe. With an abundant supply of wineries and farms along the way, remember to take a backpack so you can pick up some goodies as you pass through.
Popular stops include Beechworth for its famous Beechworth Bakery and Beechworth Honey, the Butter Factory in Myrtleford, Boynton’s Feathertop wines and the Rail Trail Cafe at Porepunkah.
