History:
Around the Bay in a Day® is Australia's premier mass participation bike ride. Leading into its sixteenth year, the event is experiencing significant growth, with over 14,000 riders participating in 2007.
Riders taking part in the challenge also have the opportunity to go the extra mile and raise money for official charity partner The Smith Family. Last year these riders raised a record figure of over $500,000 for The Smith Family.
At the conclusion of the ride, there are a number of free activities at the Alexandra Gardens Start/Finish Site including live music and entertainment, roving entertainers, corporate hospitality, food and beverage facilities, and sponsor displays and giveaways.

210km ride (with Ferry) via Sorrento or via Queenscliff : $130 (includes Free Event Jersey*, ferry and lunch);
210km ride (no Ferry) Sorrento Return or Queenscliff Return : $120 (includes Free Event Jersey* and lunch);
100km Ride : $95 (includes Free Event Jersey* and lunch);
80km School Challenge Ride : $75 (includes Free Event Jersey* and lunch);
50km Ride : $50 (includes Free T-shirt**).
The Around the Bay in a Day® 2008 and Jayco Herald Sun Tour will again be the cornerstones of the Melbourne Cycling Festival, with Victoria’s two iconic cycling events coming together to create a major weekend of cycling-centric activity in Melbourne, along with the GO Bike Expo from 17 – 19 October 2008 inclusive. The GO Bike Expo will be a free activity showcasing all aspects of the cycling world.
