Yarra City Council is holding a series of Neighbourhood Pram Walks around the City during Child Protection Week from 2 – 8 September. The walks are aimed at encouraging people to make their streets child-friendly environments.
The City of Yarra invites all families to attend one of the five pram walks which will start at 11.30am and finish with a picnic in a local park.
Monday 3 September – North Fitzroy
Tuesday 4 September – Collingwood
Wednesday 5 September – Richmond
Thursday 6 September – Fitzroy
Friday 7 September – North Carlton
The City of Yarra Mayor, Cr Jenny Farrar, said Council was committed to encouraging and facilitating safe neighbourhoods for children to play in and for families to enjoy.
“Community and neighbourhood building is an essential part of providing children with a safe environment in which to live and play,” she said.
“These walks will provide residents with an opportunity to show their support for Child Protection Week and meet their fellow neighbours and other local families.”
“It will be a fun day for all so I encourage families to head out in their local areas and participate in a Neighbourhood Pram Walk,” she said.
