Personal trainers & Fitness Operators, have your say re proposed permits

Thank you for everyone who has supported our initiatives to develop a sustainable future for our industry.

After the success of our Forum titled Introduction of Permits for Personal Trainers and Commercial Fitness Operators in Parks /Gardens/Reserves on the 18th of November, we are calling for commercial fitness operators to have their say.

We have 2 documents that address the primary concerns of council with regards to the use of open space of commercial fitness operators. This will give you the opportunity to express any opinions you may have concerning existing or proposed permit structures.

City of Yarra introduces personal training policy and Permit system

We need your support

The City of Yarra has a proposed permit system for personal trainers that will effectively stop group exercise classes of more than 2 people.

With Australia now having the highest over weight/obesity levels in the world at 53% and Diabetes is currently at 6% of the Australian population we need to act. What the City of Yarra is proposing will establish a precedent for councils currently under taking trials or proposing to introduce a permit system to parks and gardens.
