Personal trainer permits for crown land

The Department of Sustainablity and Environment is currently conducting a review of the Tour Operators and businesses conducting outdoor activities on Public Land In Victoria. The new fee structure will take precedence over existing council fees for existing permit holders or future applicants to use Crown land.

 After 2 years since the initial consultation about introducing permits, Yarra Council has passed the local law outlining the requirements for commercial fitness operators.

After a conversation with the City of Yarra today, the 6 month trial will proceed once the local law has been passed & gazetted by government.

After the success of our Forum titled Introduction of Permits for Personal Trainers and Commercial Fitness Operators in Parks /Gardens/Reserves on the 18th of November, we are calling for commercial fitness operators to have their say.

We have 2 documents that address the primary concerns of council with regards to the use of open space of commercial fitness operators. This will give you the opportunity to express any opinions you may have concerning existing or proposed permit structures.

With the recent introduction of a draft proposal for the regulation of commercial fitness operators for the City of Yarra, we have organised a forum to address councils concerns and to represent a unified voice.

We seek to to achieve a sustainable future for commercial fitness operators while maintaining a workable solution that allows small business to be a sustainable and dynamic part of the local community.

The City of Yarra has a proposed permit system for personal trainers that will effectively stop group exercise classes of more than 2 people.

With Australia now having the highest over weight/obesity levels in the world at 53% and Diabetes is currently at 6% of the Australian population we need to act. What the City of Yarra is proposing will establish a precedent for councils currently under taking trials or proposing to introduce a permit system to parks and gardens.

Fitstyler attended Mothers Play at Docklands in May. The day was orgainsed by the Australian Breastfeeding Association to give Mums some time out while indulging themselves.
A very diverse range of stalls gave Mums a chance to unwind with massage, medition and other pampering services
